<p>The UN High Commissioner for Refugees, António Guterres, shares his concerns about the worsening humanitarian situation in Syria. With 2.5 to 3 million refugees at the present time and more arriving every day, he believes that "in a few weeks' time, we'll have more Syrian refugees than any other group of refugees in the world".</p><br />But there is more to the Syrian tragedy than the number of refugees and the death toll. Guterres says we must also consider the long-lasting effects of the war on "a whole generation of young people that will be traumatised”.
