US American country musician Miranda Lambert will release a new album in June. It will include a duet with Carrie Underwood, the singer described by music critics as ‘Country Music’s reigning Queen’.

Thirty-year-old Lambert put out the feelers and is thrilled that Underwood has accepted her invitation to sing with her.

“Singing with Carrie Underwood is very, very intimidating. I mean, I’ll be honest. She is an amazing vocalist. I am a big fan of hers. To me this is a big deal and I hope that other people think it’s a big deal. But it’s a big deal to me.

“Two girls from Texas and Oklahoma are living their dreams right now. We’re really rocking in country music and we’re coming together as a force. To me, if you’re sitting on the front row, you might want to scoot back. It’s a force. You know what I mean? It just feels exciting to me and I am ready to rock you. And singing with Carrie really pushes me,” she said.

‘Mama’s Broken Heart’ is one of the tracks in what is Miranda Lambert’s fifth album. Its called ‘Platinum’ and is due out in June.

Newcomer Dan Croll at home with his grandma

The song ‘From Nowhere’ was first published in September 2012 by Dan Croll.

The 23-year-old is a graduate of Sir Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts and has been hailed by the critics as one of the country’s most promising newcomers.

‘Home’ is the latest of his songs and the video to accompany it features the singer at home with his grandmother in Liverpool.

He explained the influence for the tracks: “ ‘From Nowhere’ was very kind of indie, guitar led; ‘Home’ is folky; ‘Compliment your Soul’ has kind of African influences and stuff. I think that just carries on through the album really. There are songs that are quite R ‘n B, hip-hop inspired, ones that go even more classical with string arrangements and brass arrangements, and so I think it just kind of keeps going and keeps exploring other genres and influences that I’ve had growing up and in the past few years.”

‘Sweet Disarray’ is the debut album from Dan Croll and it is out now. The indie rock newcomer is currently on his first headline UK tour.
