Three years since the start of the Syrian uprising, the civil war has reduced parts of the country to rubble and forced millions from their homes.<br /><br />The rebels' military campaign against President Bashar al-Assad's government has had successes and failures. In the beginning, the opposition made a string of military gains - but they soon became embroiled in divisions and infighting.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Hashem Ahelbarra reports.
