Syria's military said troops had 'restored security and stability' in Yabroud after driving out rebel forces.<br/> <br />Government forces were patrolling the streets on Sunday.<br/> <br />The signs of fighting were clearly visible.<br/> <br />The town lies near the Lebanese border and its fall could choke off a vital supply line for the rebels.<br/> <br />Thousands of civilians fled Yabroud and surrounding areas when it was bombed and shelled last month ahead of the government offensive.<br/> <br />Government forces have been making major gains along the land route between Damascus and Aleppo in the past few months.<br/> <br />They've also gained ground around the two cities, retaking the initiative in the three-year-old conflict that's claimed more than 140, 000 lives.
