Osama bin Laden's son-in-law, Suleiman Abu Ghaith, unexpectedly testified on terrorism-related charges in a New York federal court.<br/> <br />He said he played no role in al Qaeda plots against the United States.<br/> <br />The man prosecutors accuse of being an al Qaeda spokesman is also accused of knowing about planned attacks against Americans.<br/> <br />In his testimony, Abu Ghaith said he met with Osama bin Laden in Afghanistan, just hours after the September 11, 2001 attacks, which killed nearly 3,000 people.<br/> <br />According to Abu Ghaith, bin Laden had asked him if he had heard about the attacks.
