Anti-racist rally condemns Wilders' 'fewer Moroccans' jibe

Thousands of people have protested in Amsterdam against Dutch populist politician Geert Wilders over his anti-Moroccan comments at an election rally last week.<br /><br />Many were from the Netherlands’ ethnic minorities.<br /><br />Several members of Wilders’ party have resigned and thousands of complaints for discrimination have been filed.<br /><br />The leader of the Party for Freedom asked supporters in The Hague whether they wanted more or fewer Moroccans in the Netherlands. <br /><br />When they chanted “fewer”, he said “we’ll take care of that”.<br /><br />Now he says he has no regrets.<br /><br />“I have said nothing wrong. I am not sorry. And I will not apologise to anyone for the truth and for performing my duty as a politician,” Wilders said on Saturday.<br /><br />His comments provoked outrage at home and abroad – and a social media campaign called “born here”, which has seen many Moroccans in the Netherlands post photos of themselves alongside their Dutch passports.
