Hundreds of people were injured in Taiwan when protesters forced their way into the central government building.<br /><br />The demonstration against a trade deal with China had been peaceful for days, but late on Sunday, a number of protesters stormed past riot police and took over the main chamber of parliament.<br /><br />As many as 50 people have been detained by the police.<br /><br />Al Jazeera's Caroline Malone reports.
