Turkish armed forces shot down a Syrian war jet on Sunday after Ankara claimed the plane had violated its airspace. <br /><br />Condemning Turkey’s actions, Damascus described it as a ‘Blatant Aggression’ insisting the jet had been pursuing rebel fighters in Kasab inside Syria when it was brought down. <br /><br />The Syrian border town has recently been the scene of intense bloody fighting between rebels and forces loyal to President Bashar al Assad. <br /><br />Turkey’s military says it warned two Syrian Mig-23s four times after the jets came close to the Turkish border. <br /><br />Damascus confirmed the pilot managed to eject before the plane crashed in Syria.
