Replacing a double barrel carburettor. <br /> <br /> <br />Disconnect the battery. <br /> <br /> <br />Undo the rubber tube connected to the air filter. <br /> <br /> <br />Undo the fuel tube. <br /> <br /> <br />Disconnect the choke cable. <br /> <br /> <br />Disconnect the throttle cable, by removing the clevis pin. <br /> <br /> <br />Detach the throttle spring from the carburettor. <br /> <br /> <br />Unscrew the 4 carburettor nuts, using a size 12 socket spanner. <br /> <br /> <br />Remove the throttle cable support. <br /> <br /> <br />The carburettor can now be removed. <br /> <br />Remove the carburettor’s insulator block. <br /> <br /> <br />Clean the surface of the tube. <br /> <br /> <br />Open your new carburettor box , you will find a throttle cable support, a paper carburettor block gasket, and the carburettor itself. <br /> <br />We suggest that you change the carburettor’s insulator block. <br /> <br />Grease both sides of the block gasket. <br /> <br />Install the insulator block and gasket, ensuring that they are correctly aligned. <br /> <br />Fit the new carburettor. <br /> <br />Screw on the two front nuts of the carburettor and put the throttle support in place. <br /> <br />Screw into place the two rear nuts. <br /> <br />Tighten all four carburettor nuts. <br /> <br />Put the throttle cable back unto its support. Reattach the throttle cable, and fix it with the clevis pin. <br /> <br />Reinstall the throttle spring. <br /> <br />Check the throttle cable tension. Have another person press the throttle pedal down, and check the carburettor flap is correctly open. If needed the cable can be regulated. <br /> <br /> <br />Before fixing your choke cable in place, make sure that the choke flap is in its original position, flap open. <br /> <br />You can now install the choke cable. Attach the cable to the cable grip, leave it loose for the moment, you will tighten it later. <br /> <br />Fix the sheath stop in place and tighten the mounting screw. <br /> <br />Before tightening the choke cable, check that the choke flap is open and that the choke button is in position zero, completely pushed in. <br /> <br />Now tighten the choke cable. <br /> <br />Check that the cable is functioning correctly. <br /> <br /> <br />Your carburettor is now installed. <br /> <br /> <br />Check the condition of your fuel pipe, and fix it in place. <br /> <br /> <br />You can reconnect the rubber air tube to the carburettor. Make sure it is correctly attached to the carburettor and tighten. <br /> <br /> <br />We suggest that after changing your carburettor, that you change also the air and fuel filters. <br /> <br /> <br />Reconnect your battery, and start up. Check that all is correctly tightened and adjust if necessary the idle speed. <br /> <br />Everything is perfect. Do not forget to ask your mechanic to control the pollution.
