Changing a rear shock absorber. <br /> <br />To make the installation easier to understand, we will change the shock absorber of a car which is being built. <br /> <br />Undo the shock absorber's rear and front fixing nuts. <br /> <br />The shock absorber can now be removed. <br /> <br />Remove the washers. <br /> <br />Wipe the shock absorber's mounting bolts. <br /> <br />Lightly grease the shock absorber's mounting bolts. <br /> <br />Put the washers in place. <br /> <br />Attention, the hydraulic shock absorber must be fitted in the right way. <br /> <br />For the mark Monroe, the reference R3203 is for the rear shock absorber. <br /> <br />You will notice that there is a ticket with "Top" written on it. <br /> <br />Just below you will see a small dome. This indicates the oil reservoir. <br /> <br />The oil reservoir must be at the lowest point, which is the fixed support on the chassis. <br /> <br />You will notice once that the shock absorber is installed that the oil reservoir is at the lowest point. <br /> <br />Attention, if the shock absorber is not fitted correctly it will be of no use. <br /> <br />Fit the washers and screw the nuts into place. <br /> <br />Your car is now fitted with a high quality hydraulic shock absorber.
