Few signs of peace as gunfire rings through the streets of the capitol in Central African Republic.<br/> <br />At least nine people are killed as the country marks the launch of a coup a year ago.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE)(French) OCTAVIEN MOMOKAMA, SAYING:<br/> <br />"I ask the people who are trying to destroy their own country, be it the Seleka or the anti-Balaka, to stop their atrocities. They are still here in the country killing people, committing massacres and stealing, they should stop."<br/> <br />France has deployed 2,000 troops to its former colony to support a 6,000-strong African Union peacekeeping mission. But they have been unable to stamp out the violence in the large, sparsely populated nation of 4.5 million people.
