Arnold Schwarzenegger is back as the leader of an elite DEA task force that takes on the world’s deadliest drug cartels in ‘Sabotage’.

After the team successfully raids a cartel safe house, they think their job is done – until their members mysteriously get executed one by one.

“I don’t remember ever doing any role that was as close to that, as dark as this character was. I mean, in ‘End of Days’ I think I played a little bit of a dark character but I think this one was by far the darkest and also the most complex character, with his own faults and his own twisted way of thinking,” said Schwarzenegger.

David Ayer, the creative force behind ‘Training Day’ and ‘End of Watch’, directs this action-packed ride.

He said he wanted to balance the character’s dark side with Schwarzenegger’s natural charisma.

“Arnold could pretty much shoot a baby on camera and you’re going to love him. I mean, he’s so naturally charismatic. And that charisma comes across in the camera. But I wanted him to play a character with a much more tumultuous internal life. And he definitely pulled it off and achieved it,” he said.

Schwarzenegger, 66, who returned to acting after a seven-year stint as governor of California, says he’s fully committed to his Hollywood comeback: “I have no interest in running for anything. I’ve done that. I never wanted to be a career politician. I always am interested just to take on challenges that everyone says is impossible to do and to take it on. Right now I’m back into acting. I said ‘I’ll be back’ and I’m back. And that’s what I love to do.”

Featuring a strong cast and delivering exactly what it promises – an entertaining action-packed cop movie – ‘Sabotage’ is on worldwide release this spring.
