Gerard Depardieu is proud to be Russian.<br/> <br />The French born actor who famously took up Russian citizenship to allegedly avoid a proposed tax hike in France, has teamed up with Swiss watchmakers Cvstos.<br/> <br />A picture posted on the company's Facebook page shows Depardieu posing with a watch described as the "Gerard Depardieu Edition Proud to be Russian."<br/> <br />Depardieu first moved to Belgium in 2012 and then continued east to Russia, where President Vladimir Putin granted him citizenship in January 2013.<br/> <br />The actor previously denied he left his homeland for tax reasons, saying that, although he now has a Russian passport, he is still very much French.
