An Egyptian court is denying bail to three Al Jazeera journalists accused of aiding terrorism.

Australian Peter Greste, Canadian Mohamed Fahmy, and Egyptian national Baher Mohamed were held in a cage for most of the proceedings, although they Greste could be heard briefly speaking to the judge.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) DETAINED AL JAZEERA JOURNALIST, PETER GRESTE, (SPEAKING TO JUDGE MOHAMED NAGY SHAHATA) SAYING:

"I am a journalist with over 30 years experience. I arrived in Cairo two weeks before my arrest. As you can see I am provided with assistance of a translator as my knowledge of Arabic is practically zero."

Officials say the men raised suspicions by operating without accreditation --- a charge the three men and Al Jazeera called absurd.

The court was expected to provide a video--- they claim shows the men doctoring the news.

The case was moved to April 10 --- the third delay since their arrest in December. Their frustration evident.

Greste
