Straphangers at New Brunswick station in New Jersey experienced a gruesome commute on Tuesday when a man was hit by an express train.<br /><br />The man was struck and killed by a northbound New Jersey Transit train, police said.<br /><br />The busy platform was full of people waiting for their trains at around 5pm when the express train was carrying 300 people from Trenton to New York approached the station.<br /><br />Witnesses said that the man then stuck out his head to look up the track when he was struck by the train.<br /><br />The force of the impact sent body parts flying into nearby commuters injuring four, three of which had to be taken to hospital.<br /><br />Train services were temporarily suspended following the horrifying accident. An investigation is now underway.
