ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)<br/> <br />April came to Moscow with a massive snowstorm after more than four inches (10 centimeters) of snow fell on the Russian capital in less than 24 hours.<br/> <br />Snow blanketed streets in the early hours on Tuesday (April 1) with the Kremlin barely visible from the distance in heavy snow.<br/> <br />More than 10,000 snowploughs were deployed on Moscow roads to battle the elements, as streets were clogged in big traffic jams.<br/> <br />Meteorologists say the snowstorm will continue throughout the day on Tuesday.<br/> <br />It came just a week after Moscovites and tourists enjoyed unusually warm weather with temperatures rising last Tuesday (March 25) to 16 degrees Celsius (64.4 Fahrenheit) in some areas of the Russian capital.<br/> <br />Temperatures in March broke eight all-time records. The warmest ever March day in Moscow fell on March 24 - the temperature of 18.8 degrees has never been seen before in 130 years of weather monitoring history in Moscow.
