GM to apologise to families of victims

The US car manufacturer, General Motors, promised an independent investigation in to why it took ten tears for it to publically admit the need to replace the faulty ignition switch. The defect caused power failures that resulted in a number of deaths. The company's CEO, Mary Barra, suggested that the firm maybe looking for a settlement with the victims and their families. Al Jazeera's Tom Ackerman reports from the US capital.
