Buffalo Sun (also known as Johnny Creole & Elgin Preston) is an American singer/songwriter best known for his graceful expertise with a bass guitar. Considered one of the top bassists in rock music, he performed with such great bands as SNOW, THE OTHER ONES, EASTERN ALLIANCE, BROOKLYN BRIDGE, BUFFALO SUN BLUES BAND, TAPROCK AND THE BLUE MOON BOYS. His albums include the Trilogy 'WAR CRIES - A SOLDIER DIES - WORLD LIES', Plus VOODOO SMILE, THE BEST OF, SONGWRITER WEBB, GOING HOME AND MORE. His labels included TARGET, CO-OP, FLOWER, SRO, LAURIE & ATLANTIC. His rare 45's are extremely popular with collectors and sought after vigorously. <br />Starting his long career in 1963 with The Zodiacs featuring The I.R.S. Boys, he has performed and shared the stage with such great talent as Bobby Rydell, Bobby Vinton, The Classic IV, The Orlons, Ohio Express, B.J. Thomas, Jose Feliciano, Johnny Winter, Mountain featuring Leslie West, Jim Webb, Badfinger & The Bee Gees to name a few. Sadly, his career was cut short due to a fall from a great height. While trying to make a comeback a few years later, another accident crushed his hand, rendering him unable to play guitar again. <br />In an interview in The Rock & Roll Times, Buffalo always stated that he considered himself an average singer, an average songwriter, a good lyricist and a great bass guitarist. He was not prone to bragging, but he knew how good his bass playing was just by audience reaction alone when he performed 15 minute solos with his blues band.
