Originally published on November 29, 2013 <br /><br />Some 80 people were injured early Friday (November 29) when a high-speed ferry traveling from Hong Kong to Macau hit an unidentified object in the water, Hong Kong' marine department said. There were no reports that anyone was missing.<br /><br />The ferry was carrying 105 passengers and 10 crew members when the collision occurred at around 1:20 a.m. (1720 GMT) of Hei Ling Chau island. The impact threw the vessel upwards and ejected passengers from their seats.<br /><br />Of the 80 or so people injured at least four sustained serious injuries.<br /><br />The ferry was towed back to Hong Kong's Sheung Wan terminal following the collision, where paramedics were standing by to treat those who were injured.<br /><br />The safety of Hong Kong's waters was called into question following another collision that occurred at sea on October 1 of last year, where dozens were killed.<br /><br />--------------------------------------------------------<br /><br />TomoNews is your daily source for top animated news.
