Piaggio, that iconic Italian Vespa maker, has now launched its latest autorickshaw in India called the Apé City diesel for Rs 1.80 lakh ex-showroom Tamil Nadu only in BS 3 variant. <br />Hopefully, going by its name, the three-wheeler of Piaggio is powered by a 395cc single-cylinder diesel engine of 7.5bhp and 16.7 Nm of peak torque. On technicalities, the engine is air-cooled and is devoid of turbocharger mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. In addition to it, petrol, CNG and LPG variants are also available. <br />Hopefully, it will be interesting to see this same engine fitted on the upcoming bikes and scooters of the future.
