The plight of Muslims in Myanmar seems to be far from over as violence continues against one of the world's most persecuted minority groups. <br /> <br />Buddhist extremists have attacked Rohingya Muslims in Hlegu-- a town on the outskirts of Myanmar's main city of Yangon. The violent mob damaged a building, while trying to destroy Muslim houses and shops. The attack triggered clashes between Buddhists and Muslims-- leaving a number of people injured. Over the past two years, hundreds of Rohingyas have been killed and hundreds of thousands forced to flee after being targeted by Buddhist mobs. A few days ago, a UN-backed census was launched in Myanmar. But the government says it will not recognize Rohingya Muslims as Myanmarese citizens.
