It is the biggest day yet in the world’s biggest election.<br /><br />Indians started voting on Monday and today the capital Delhi is joining in.<br /><br />Rahul Gandhi of the famous political dynasty is heading the ruling Congress party’s push to hold onto power, alongside his Italian-born mother Sonia.<br /><br />The big challenge comes from Hindu nationalist Narendra Modi, the main opposition BJP’s candidate for prime minister.<br /><br />In Delhi alone, there are more than 12 million potential voters. <br /><br />A key figure is the Aam Aadmi anti-corruption party leader Arvind Kejriwal who is hoping success on the national stage will follow a local election triumph in Delhi last year.<br /><br />Nationwide, more than 815 million people are registered to vote over the next five weeks.<br /><br />Tens of thousands of security personnel and mobile police squads are being deployed for the ballot in the capital. All votes will be counted on May 16.
