Partial results put Abdullah in lead for Afghanistan's next president

Former opposition leader Abdullah Abdullah is in the lead after the first official results from Afghanistan's presidential election.<br/> <br />Abdullah received nearly 42 percent of the vote, but he's not celebrating yet.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (English) PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE ABDULLAH ABDULLAH SAYING:<br/> <br />"At this stage I will say that it is a very preliminary partial result and eight province are not being counted into this result but as a whole we are doing better than everybody else as we had done, as we had said earlier so it is ok."<br/> <br />The tally was based on 10 percent of the vote from 26 out of 34 provinces.<br/> <br />As the remaining votes come in, the results are expected to change.<br/> <br />The Independent Election Complaints Commission also has 870 "Priority A" complaints to review.<br/> <br />Those are considered serious enough to affect the outcome of the election.<br/> <br />(SOUNDBITE) (Dari) SPOKESMAN FOR AFGHANISTAN INDEPENDENT ELECTION COMPLAINTS COMMISSION (IECC) NADER MOHSENI SAYING:
