In the West Bank, an Israeli man has been shot dead after his car came under attack from gunfire close to Hebron. <br /><br />Israeli media said the driver’s wife and children were also in the vehicle, including his nine year-old daughter who was injured in the incident. The family was reportedly en route to celebrate the Jewish festival of Passover. <br /><br />Witnesses reported at least one man armed with an automatic rifle, wearing a black helmet, opened fire on several cars near Hebron city. <br /><br />The shooting comes only a day after Jewish settlers were controversially awarded a disputed house in Hebron after a protracted ownership battle. <br /><br />Despite Palestinian objections Israel’s supreme court declared three Jewish families, who moved in under heavy armed protection on Sunday, the property’s legal owners.
