A French soldier has been taken to hospital after being stabbed in the neck in the western business district of Paris. He was on patrol as part of an ongoing anti-terrorist operation. The attacker, reportedly a man of North African origin, is now on the run. French President Francois Hollande said he will look at whether there was any connection with a murder in London on Wednesday. A British soldier was decapitated by two attackers with a machete, sparking a wave of Islamophobic violence there.
