A former Turkish MP has been wounded along with his son while his wife and daughter were killed in an armed attack in Istanbul. One of the assailants also died .<br /><br />A car carrying Adnan Yildiz and his family was approached by two people on motorbikes who tried to steal a suitcase. An exchange of gunfire followed. <br /><br />Yıldız was twice elected to Parliament for the former Motherland Party (ANAP). During his terms, he alleged that he had been blackmailed by the head of a criminal gang for $100,000.
