Ukraine has launched a criminal investigation into Russian lender Sberbank. <br /><br />The enquiry is related to financing pro-Russian separatists, according to Ukraine’s acting Attorney General.<br /><br />Fourteen banks are under investigation for helping to fund activists who have taken over a number of buildings in eastern Ukraine.<br /><br />The country’s state security service had referred to an unnamed bank that transferred 45 million hryvnia (around 2.7 million euros) between March and April for financing militant groups.
