Lithuania has moved one step closer to joining the euro after the country’s parliament approved to switch to the single currency at the start of next year. <br /><br />The Seimas passed the law to adopt the euro by 87 votes to seven. There were 13 abstentions.<br /><br />Brussels is expected to announce if it will give the green light to Lithuania’s entry to the single currency in June enabling it to follow Baltic neighbours, Estonia and Latvia.
