Nine Nepali mountaineering guides have been killed on Mount Everest. <br /><br />The victims died when an avalanche swept down the side of the 8,850-metre peak. It’s been reported that three others were injured and an unknown number of people could be missing.<br /><br />Almost 250 have died on the mountain since its summit was first reached in 1953.
