For days many of those waiting for news of loved ones missing in the South Korea ferry disaster have clung to the hope they might still be alive.<br/> <br />By Sunday it was becoming evident that hope was gone.<br/> <br />Mourners attended funerals for some of the casualties of Danwon High School whose students and staff formed the majority of those on board when the ferry capsized.<br/> <br />They included 18-year-old Jang Jin-Yong whose coffin was carried by his schoolmates.<br/> <br />Also teacher Nam Yun-Chul, hailed a hero by survivors who said he'd gone to find his students as the ship turned over.<br/> <br />By late Sunday afternoon at least 56 people had been confirmed dead.<br/> <br />Another 246 were still unaccounted for.<br/> <br />As South Korea faced its worst maritime disaster in 21 years, nearly 15, 000 worshippers turned out to mark Easter Sunday with prayers for the missing.<br/> <br />The captain and two crew have been arrested on charges including negligence of duty.<br/> <br />Investigators are still trying t
