Former foreign minister Abdullah Abdullah has extended his lead in the Afghan presidential race, according to the latest tally although half of the votes must yet be counted. <br /><br />Partial results give him 44 percent support. His nearest rival, ex-world bank official Ashraf Ghani, is on 33 percent. <br /><br />President Hamid Karzai is constitutionally barred from seeking a third term.
