Forensic experts from Serbia, Kosovo and Bosnia have begun excavation of a suspected mass grave in Serbia. <br /><br />It’s believed to contain at least 250 bodies of ethnic Albanians killed during the 1998-1999 Kosovo war.<br /><br />The site is in Rudnica village near Serbia’s border with Kosovo.<br /><br />The Serbian government official dealing with the wartime missing, Veljko Odalovic, explained about the painstaking task:<br /><br />“The location is technically ready and until we have searched the location completely we will not stop,” said Odalovic. <br /><br />“We will work on weekends also. The whole process will take around 60 days,” added the head of the Serbian Government Missing Persons Commission.<br /><br />Some 10,000 people were killed during the conflict between Serbian security troops and Kosovo separatists. Hundreds of bodies were transferred to central Serbia to hide evidence of atrocities.
