ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION<br/> <br />At least nine people were killed when a car bomb went off in a popular market in Baghdad's eastern Shi'ite neighbourhood on Sunday (April 27), police said.<br/> <br />The attack came just three days before the country's parliamentary elections on April 30.<br/> <br />Up to 27 other civilians were also wounded in the blast in Sadr City, the scene of frequent car bomb attacks.<br/> <br />The explosion also caused damage to a number of shops.<br/> <br />The elections, a key test for the country's fledgling democracy, will take place against a backdrop of rising violence and fighting in western Anbar province to expel al Qaeda linked groups.
