A series of powerful tornadoes brought death and destruction to southern and central parts of the United States.<br/> <br />At least seven people were killed in Arkansas and Oklahoma as the storms hit on Sunday.<br/> <br />Many more have been injured.<br/> <br />These were the scenes in the Oklahoma town of Quapaw just over 300 kilometres east of Oklahoma City.<br/> <br />Dozens of homes and other buildings have been destroyed.<br/> <br />Trees and power lines have also been brought down<br/> <br />Search and rescue teams are sifting through the debris for anyone who might be trapped underneath.<br/> <br />Tornadoes were also reported in parts of Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska and Missouri where they caused damage but there've been no reports of injuries.
