ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)<br/> <br />At least nine circus performers are seriously injured after a platform used during their show collapsed on Sunday (May 4), the Providence Fire Department said.<br/> <br />Amateur video shot by an audience member showed performers spinning on ropes tethered to the platform when the structure collapsed with no warning.<br/> <br />Nine of the performers were critically injured but are expected to survive, fire officials said.<br/> <br />The cause of the collapse is under investigation. Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
