Attention is once again focused on the Portuguese resort of Praia da Luz where British toddler Madeleine McCann disappeared just over seven years ago. <br /><br />Reports in the UK have said that police have been given permission to start digging at several sites near where she vanished.<br /><br />Madeleine McCann went missing from her room in the Algarve resort in May 2007 while her parents were dining with friends at a nearby restaurant. <br /><br />Police in England launched a review of the case in 2011 and since then have made at least 16 trips to Portugal as part of their investigation into the case.
