Protests are continuing on the streets of Thailand following the ousting of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra.<br /><br />On Wednesday Yingluck was thrown out of office by the Constitutional Court for abuse of power.<br /><br />Anti-government demonstrators, who tend to be urban and middle class, have been protesting and occupying official buildings in Bangkok for several months.<br /><br />Yingluck’s supporters, known as the “red shirts”, who are mainly rural voters, say the court’s decision amounts to a coup.<br /><br />At least 20 people have died over the course of the protests and there are fears there will be further clashes.<br /><br />Thailand’s anti-corruption agency is expected to decide on Thursday whether to pursue charges against Yingluck that could see her banned from politics for good.
