Supporters of Yingluck Shinawatra have gathered in Bangkok to protest against her dismissal as prime minister for negligence.<br /><br />The supporters of Yingluck and her brother, former Prime Minister Thaksin, want the interim government to press ahead with elections penciled in for July 20:<br /><br />“We are protesting against a government that is not elected. We will protest against any kind of coup. We don’t want anything illegitimate in this country,” said one “red shirt.”<br /><br />As the “red shirts” congregated a counter protest set up by the anti-government “yellow shirts” rallied across town to call for reforms before a fresh election takes place.<br /><br />The anti-government protesters want a people’s council to run the country while reforms are set in place ahead of a new poll. <br /><br />Twenty-five people have been killed since demonstrations broke out last November.<br /><br />Authorities have called on both sets of supporters to avoid further confrontation.
