Lawson Light Plane Crash (Blue Mountains NSW, Australia) - CAPS Cirrus Airframe Parachute System <br /> <br />Plane came down at 14:08, 10th May 2014 <br /> <br />Loud bang, then the plane's parachute (I didn't even know those existed) was deployed... the pilot attempted to restart the engine but failed. <br /> <br />Seems it was Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS). <br /> <br />No-one badly injured. Landed 'safely' (i.e. crashed slowly!) in the front garden of a house about 100 yards down from my house.
