A group of Roman Catholic bishops in Argentina has said the country is sick with violence.<br /><br />The bishops statement compared corruption in the country to a cancer "causing injustice and death".<br /><br />The government of President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner responded by saying there was a "deliberate attempt" to blame it for the insecurity.<br /><br />The relationship between Kirchner and the Catholic church had been tense, but improved lately since the election of Pope Francis, who is also from Argentina. <br /><br />Al Jazeera's Dominic Kane reports.
