Swiss artist HR Giger, whose creations for the original ‘Alien’ movie spawned a host of imitators and led to sleepless nights for an entire generation of filmgoers, has died aged 74 after falling down some stairs.<br /><br />Mostly based in America, he also designed album covers and set up a chain of themed bars all featuring his outlandish mix of uber-Gothic science-fiction horror.
