A court in Egypt has sentenced former President Hosni Mubarak to three years in prison on charges of stealing public funds.<br /><br />His sons Alaa and Gamal were also convicted and handed four-year terms.<br /><br />The three have been fined around 2.2 million euro and ordered to repay the 12.8 million they are accused of embezzling.<br /><br />Mubarak, 86, is currently standing trial for abuse of power and complicity in the killing of protesters in the 2011 uprising that forced him from power.<br /><br />He’s being held under house arrest in a military hospital in Cairo.
