It’s a radical move, but China is to scrap six million cars that do not meet exhaust emission standards by the end of the year in a bid to improve air quality.<br /><br />A further five million are to be decommissioned next year.<br /><br />Fighting pollution has become a priority for the government as they try to reverse decades of damage linked to rapid manufacturing growth.<br /><br />In addition experts are calling for upgrades in fuels, which can also help reduce air pollution and smog.
