Jaguar pounced on India since the Tata Motors took over that British auto brand along with the Land Rover. Now, stepping one leap backwards in order to make a more powerful attack, the Tata owned Jaguar re-launched its flagship sedan XJ in India for Rs 92.1 lakh ex-showroom Mumbai. However, the re-launch is done to commemorate the pocket-friendly price tag of under Rs 1 crore that the automaker achieved in its attempt to manufacture the XJ locally at its Pune facility, alongside the XF and Land Rover Freelander. <br />Hence, only 3.0 liter diesel version of XJ is being rolled off the local manufacturing bay, in two trims namely Premium Luxury and Portfolio. <br />For the salvage of more value to be delivered to delight the audience of India, the India-made XJ boasts new features like, three massage seat functions, electric rear side window blinds, LED reading lights, rear screens for Rear Seat Entertainment System, and a new rear business table, along with increased rear headroom for added comfort. <br />Earlier, the XJ was sold for Rs 1.16 crore when imported via CBU route. Now, the re-launch with local manufactured tag made it to stand competitively against the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7-Series and Audi A8 facelift with Matrix headlamps.
