In the Middle East, a rally to mark Jerusalem Day was marred by clashes after several hundred young Israeli’s entered the city’s Muslim quarter.<br /><br />There was a high police presence on Wednesday as the marchers celebrated the 47th anniversary of the capture of East Jerusalem in the 1967 war with Jordon. <br /><br />Scuffles broke out between Israeli forces and Palestinians who had gathered in and around the old city to protest against the march. <br /><br />Despite the trouble there were no reports of any arrests. <br /><br />Israel says the day marks the unification of the city, while Palestinians claim East Jerusalem as the capital of their future state. <br /><br />Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that Israel will never divide the city.
