Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer is set to become the new owner of the Los Angeles Clippers basketball team.<br /><br />Ballmer won the bidding with a two billion dollar offer,outbidding investors that included by media mogul David Geffen and Oprah Winfrey.<br /><br />The Clippers came up for same after the National Basketball Association (NBA) banned owner Donald Sterling for life after he made racist remarks in a recorded conversation leaked to entertainment website TMZ.<br /><br />Sterling, who has said he’d fight the NBA’s punishment, would have to approve the sale. <br /><br />Ballmer, a long-time bnasketball fan, retired as Microsoft CEO in February. <br /><br />Last year he was part of a group that unsuccessfully bid on the Sacremento Kings basketball team.
