This is a 2010 Ford Escape -- it's one of the SUV models Ford is recalling.<br/> <br />The company said they're recalling 1.39 million SUVs and sedans in North America, most for the possible loss of power steering.<br/> <br />Model years 2011 to 2013 Explorer SUVs, along with 2008 to 2011 Ford Escape and Mercury Mariner SUVs are included in the recall.<br/> <br />In addition, Ford is recalling nearly 200,000 Taurus sedans on a corrosion issue. Plus, over 82,000 Ford Fusion, Mercury Milan, Lincoln Zephyr, and Lincoln M-K-Z sedans with floor mats that may interfere with the operation of accelerator pedals.<br/> <br />Analysts say automakers are giving heightened scrutiny to safety issues. This, in the wake of General Motors' ongoing crisis that began with an ignition-switch problem in older-model cars.
