The International Air Transport Association sees turbulence ahead for the world’s airlines, so it has trimmed 514 million euros off its profit forecast for the global industry for this year.<br /><br />Clouds in the forecast include lower Chinese growth and political risks, although the IATA says the outlook improves further into the year.<br /><br />Profits should now be a shade over 13 billion euros despite global trade slowing since March, but barriers to the industry making more include rising infrastructure costs, inefficiencies in air traffic management, a heavy tax burden and costly regulation.
