The Solar Impulse 2, a solar-powered plane that is set to circle the globe in 2015, has made its inaugural flight.<br /><br />Test pilot Markus Scherdel was in the cockpit for the aircraft’s maiden voyage. It took off from Payerne airfield in Switzerland at around 5:30 local time and returned approximately two hours later.<br /><br />Scherdel reportedly said there were some vibrations early in the flight, that that the mission outcome was very positive overall.
