'The Hunger Games' is one of the most popular franchises internationally.<br/> <br />In the movies, Jennifer Lawrence plays Katniss Everdeen, who becomes a symbol of the revolution against totalitarian rule in the fictional nation of Panem.<br/> <br />Now the three-fingered salute of the movies and books to show solidarity against oppression has been taken up by anti-coup protesters in Thailand.<br/> <br />On June 1st, demonstrators outside a university and shopping mall were seen using the very same salute and now the military, who toppled the government's administration in May, has warned the protestors against doing this.<br/> <br />The original movie, 'The Hunger Games' smashed into the box office in 2012 making nearly $700 million dollars worldwide - of that nearly $700,000 came from Thailand's box office receipts.
